Better YouTube Discovery: New Search Filters are Here
By Felix Melchner
We added new search filters to our Youtube recent search
We just updated RecentReborn to give you even more control over your YouTube searches. While Instagram keeps hiding what you want to see, we are focused on making discovery easier across all your favorite platforms.
What is new?
We have added two major ways to narrow down your results when you search on RecentReborn:
-
You can now toggle specifically between standard Videos and Shorts.
-
We have implemented three time-based categories to help you find exactly what you need:
-
Under 4 minutes
-
4 to 20 minutes
-
Over 20 minutes
-
Why this matters for you
YouTube’s default search often prioritizes what is popular over what is new. By combining these filters with our "last hour" and "upload date" sorting, you can find brand new content from creators before it even hits the mainstream algorithm.
How to use the new filters
-
Head over to app.recentreborn.com.
-
Select the YouTube tab.
-
Enter your search term or hashtag.
-
Use the new dropdown menus to pick your Type and Duration.
These updates are live for all users starting today. Give them a try and let us know how they help you find new creators!

I built RecentReborn because Instagram’s decision to hide recent posts made it impossible to find real people and small creators who are not already famous. My vision for 2026 is to restore the original soul of social media by giving everyone a fair chance to be discovered and supported through chronological search.
