The 2026 FIFA World Cup is going to be the biggest soccer party the planet has ever seen. For the first time ever, three countries (Canada, Mexico, and the USA) are joining forces to host the tournament. We are also jumping from 32 teams to a massive 48-team field, which means more goals, more drama, and a total of 104 matches to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Whether you're planning to travel to a game or just want to make sure you don’t miss a second of the action on TV, this guide breaks down everything you need to know about the schedule, the groups, and the road to the final.

Master the Clock: Time Zones Explained

With matches happening from Vancouver to Mexico City to Miami, keeping track of kickoff times can be tricky. The host cities are spread across four different time zones.

One very important tip for your calendar: Mexico abolished Daylight Saving Time in 2023. This means while cities like Dallas and Chicago (Central Time) shift their clocks, Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey stay at UTC-6 year-round. During the tournament, Mexico City will actually be two hours behind Eastern Time (ET).

Quick Cheat Sheet for Kickoffs (June/July)

The Group Stage: 12 Groups, 17 Days of Non-Stop Action

From June 11 to June 27, we’ll see 72 matches in the Group Stage alone. The teams are split into 12 groups (A through L). Each host nation gets to play all three of their group matches on home soil, so expect the atmosphere in Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles to be electric!

See Every Moment with RecentReborn

If you’ve tried searching for #fifaworldcup on Instagram lately, you probably noticed something frustrating. You mostly see "Top Posts" from massive sports networks or famous athletes who already have millions of followers. It feels like only the "elite" users are allowed to be seen. It makes it nearly impossible to find the real people, the hobbyists, and the creators who are actually at the games sharing authentic moments.

This is exactly why we built RecentReborn. We believe every fan deserves to be seen, not just the accounts that already have a massive following. By using RecentReborn, you can see the most recent content for hashtags like #fifaworldcup or specific locations in the exact order they were uploaded. Whether you want live updates from a stadium in Mexico City or want to find a new creator sharing behind-the-scenes footage in Toronto, our tool brings back the "Recent" tab that Instagram took away.

I built RecentReborn because Instagram’s decision to hide recent posts made it impossible to find real people and small creators who are not already famous. My vision for 2026 is to restore the original soul of social media by giving everyone a fair chance to be discovered and supported through chronological search.
