Success Story: How Jade Used Recent Instagram Hashtag Search to Win with RecentReborn

Finding new competitions and giveaways on Instagram has become a real challenge since Instagram removed the “recent” tab for hashtags. Jade’s story perfectly captures this frustration and shows how RecentReborn made a difference for her when she thought all hope was lost.

Here’s Jade’s own words:

Hello,

Thank you for your email.

I found Recent Reborn by searching google for a way to search Instagram by recent first. I was just about to give up after I saw a post on Reddit saying (on the Google search) that it would be impossible for a website to do such a thing then I saw your website underneath. I couldn't believe my luck when I found it actually worked! I have made this search on Google many times over the years since Instagram got rid of the recent search function with no luck but this time I found your website which is exactly what I was looking for.

I, like many others, used to use the recent feature to find competitions and giveaways on Instagram but since they removed that feature it's been impossible to find competitions with low entries or that haven't ended (are still open) and hence it's harder to win them because Instagram is only showing me posts with thousands of comments on. This means I can't find new businesses or competitions. As I couldn't efficiently search Instagram I've won a lot less on there over the years with me winning at least once a week when I could search by recent on Instagram to not having won for three months. Thanks to your website I've won a book today though that I found through RR and wouldn't have found otherwise!

Whilst the above seems like a lot of unnecessary information I just wanted you to understand how I use it for future points I was going to make. I know many others would probably use it for the reasons above if they knew about it too. As soon as I found it I sent it to a friend who uses Instagram in the same way and she found it very useful too.

The website itself works well however I have noticed that after pressing load more for so many times it jumps back to the search screen and loses my place. This tends to be around 60% of the free limit so it's not that I've run out of free searches. This is frustrating but I could just search every few hours to get around this. I could if I had more searches anyway. For my purpose I don't find the free search lasts long at all. I timed it the other day and it lasted about 18 minutes on three hashtags so I'm guessing it's not just based on searches and is how many times the search or load more button is pressed. Considering the website works well I'm not against paying for more searches but I wouldn't pay for it unless it was unlimited searches because 5x the current free searches is not a lot when using it to search popular hashtags because I still have to scroll past all the rubbish irrelevant posts that end up on Instagram. I do like that the app doesn't require you to log into Instagram as I find websites like that tend to result in my Instagram getting temporarily banned with use. I also like that the website doesn't lose my place when I open the post in Instagram and go back to RR.

Overall I think the website is brilliant and just what I needed all these years with the only issues being the limited searches both in the free and paid options and the website jumping back to the top after so much load more clicks. The only improvement I'd love if possible would be a way to search multiple words without the hashtag as well as with there being no way to search hashtags efficiently a lot of Instagram posts don't have hashtags on anymore but I don't know IT so maybe that's not possible with however the website works. Regardless though it is the most efficient way I've found to search Instagram in years and I'm very pleased to have found it.

Thank you,
Jade

Jade’s experience highlights the very real impact of losing Instagram’s “recent” tab. She used to win giveaways regularly by spotting competitions early with the recent hashtag posts. Since the removal, finding these opportunities became nearly impossible, and her wins came to a halt for months. Thanks to RecentReborn, she’s now back to discovering giveaways and even had the joy of winning a book that very day.

We truly appreciate Jade’s thorough feedback. Her insights on the site’s strengths and limitations pushed us to improve. In fact, based on her suggestion and similar voices from other users, we’ve updated our subscription plans to offer 10 times the daily searches instead of just 5 times. This means more time and flexibility for power users like Jade who want to dive deep into popular hashtags without running out of quota too quickly.

Jade’s story isn’t just about winning a book. It’s about reclaiming a part of the Instagram experience that once helped ordinary people find real moments, new businesses, and authentic giveaways before they get buried under the noise. If you’ve ever felt stuck or frustrated trying to find that kind of discovery on Instagram, know that you’re not alone, and tools like RecentReborn are here to make it easier again.

If you want to start searching like Jade did and spot giveaways, new creators, or trending posts before the crowd, give RecentReborn a try. It’s free to browse and ready when Instagram no longer shows recent posts like it used to.

Happy discovering!
Felix

I built RecentReborn because Instagram’s decision to hide recent posts made it impossible to find real people and small creators who are not already famous. My vision for 2026 is to restore the original soul of social media by giving everyone a fair chance to be discovered and supported through chronological search.
